Complicated roadway use on a small street. Note rubber boudins -- "sausages" and raised crosswise white cylindrical bumps separating the bike lane from the travel lane. The boudins can cause an uncomfortable jolt in a motor vehicle -- or topple a bicycle into the travel lane. Also note cars "half-parked" on left curb. The bicyclist would do better to have merged left to pass behind the pedestrians, but the barrier bike lane makes this uncomfortable and risky; its utility on a small street like this is questionable except perhaps if it discourages "half-parking" on the right curb.
