Narrow, ancient street with shared-lane marking indicating one-way bicycle travel. Bollards are to prevent "half-parking" -- cars with one wheel up on the sidewalk, a common practice in France. Under the do-not-enter sign for the alley that connects from the right is a second sign warning that illegally-parked vehicles will be towed. The lowermost, yellow sign reads "Pietons traversée obligatoire" -- pedestrians must cross here (in the marked crosswalk). The narrowness of the sidewalks raises the issue whether pedestrians and particularly wheelchair users could get to the crosswalk. There is a ramp near the crosswalk at the left, but none on the right. In the background, a pedestrain is walking with a dog in the middle of the alley, blithely ignoring the signage.
