The bike lane on NW Everett Street approaching 14th Avenue requires bicyclists to keep to the right of a lane in which most traffic turns right onto 14th and a ramp to the Interstate. The bulbout on the corner removes any possibility of motorists' merging across the bike lane to turn right. Bicyclists can easily maintain the same speed as motor traffic, as Everett Street runs downhill. Knowledgeable bicyclists ride in the left lane to overtake the queue of motorists waiting to turn right while avoiding bicyclists overtaking on their right.
