End of path, 1982
In 1978, there was no path along Greenough Boulevard. A path through "Hell's Half Acre" -- an undeveloped, wild piece of land between the river and Greenough Boulevard -- ended like this at the Boulevard. Eastbound cyclists could ride directly from the shoulder onto the path. Westbound cyclists had to cross the four lanes of the Boulevard here, with no traffic control to reach the other side, or else cross at an intersection east of this point. They still must, if they are to use the roadway.
