Bikeway adjacent to pedway in median, with bollards and traffic signal posts. Note special bicycle signals. Bicycle/pedestrian facilities in the median increase complications at intersections. Such bikeways do not provide convenient access to destinations at the sides of the street, and so are not very useful for short trips. Facilities in the median are justifiable to provide access to parkland, but that is not the case with this paved median.
