W 23rd St. Typical start of block after 2-way cross street. Note white arrow signs. There was no bicycle signal at W. 23rd Street as of December 5, 2008, though motorists turn across the bikeway. 23rd Street is two-way, the only two-way cross street along the 9th Avenue sidepath facility except for 14th Street at its end. The bicyclist and pedestrian in the picture, headed from left to right have moved out into the bikeway against the light. Ah, New York!
