Crossing tracks
In this multiple-exposure panorama, students cross the Fitchburg Line tracks from Alexander Avenue (right) to the grounds of Belmont High School (left). A student was killed here, struck by a train, in the fall of 2009. It is no wonder that students cross here. The detour in either direction to a protected crossing of the tracks requires an extra mile of travel. As the rail line is elevated here, an undercrossing would be appropriate -- though a gated crossing would be better than nothing. Scroll right if necessary to view the rest of the image.
